Young and Full of Spirit Sevi Is Releasing Her Debut Single “Backup Friend”
We have another new face to introduce. Say hello to Sevilla Merritt (Sevi), the 14-year-old singer and songwriter coming right from Los Angeles. Sevi is ready to make an impact on everyone's heart with the release of her debut single "Backup Friend."
Sevi found her calling in music at the tender age of 5 when she started taking part in musical theater. Her love for performing arts began to blossom as she played various roles such as Ariel in The Little Mermaid and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. These experiences helped her develop her stage presence and confidence. Not only did she excel in acting, but she also learned how to play the violin, piano, and guitar. These skills played a huge role in her passion for music. With each instrument she mastered, her understanding of melodies and harmonies deepened. It was evident that Sevi had a natural talent for music that couldn't be ignored. During the pandemic, she joined a cover rock band as their lead singer, which proved to be a turning point in her musical journey. She discovered her true calling as a vocalist and performer. While technically she is still a part of the band, she recently decided to pursue a solo career to fully explore her artistic expression.
"Backup Friend" is her first original solo song, and it's a perfect showcase of her potential and ability. The pop tune is delightful for the senses, with its remarkable melody and profound lyrics.
