As an actor, filmmaker, U.S. Marine vet, and top 1% nationally ranked trial lawyer, it’s probably an understatement to say that Scott Pryor has had his fair share of skirmishes over the years. But on his latest single, ‘Ecstasy & Agony,’ he dramatizes the fiery internal wrestling match that happens when you reach the breaking point in an intoxicating relationship that won’t work out.

Emerging rockstar Scott Pryor has shared his latest single, ‘Ecstasy & Agony.’ The new release comes as Scott is already off to a flying 2024 - he has released six singles this year as he gears up to share his debut album with the world.

Scott Pryor’s backstory is as fascinating as they come; his multi-varied career in the entertainment world, the military, and the legal realm has paved the way for him to fulfill his lifelong ambition of recording and sharing his music.

Born in Montana and raised in Wyoming and Indiana, Scott joined the Marines when he reached seventeen, which proved to be a suitable outlet for his energetic, motivated spirit. He then went to college, taking a degree in Finance and Arts before working on a Master's in Economics and eventually heading to Law School.

At the same time, as he built a career for himself, Scott also took steps to pursue a separate ambition: filmmaking. Over the last ten years, Scott Pryor became widely known for Producing (PGA), acting, and writing the award-winning and acclaimed films Blackbear, The List, and Tulsa.

But music has always been Scott’s guiding light, even when life has taken him down other avenues. He notes that his father was an acclaimed, world-renowned honky-tonk piano player - and hearing his dad play during Scott’s youth lit an initial spark in him.

Only in recent years has the artist been able to turn that spark into a proper, roaring fire. When he decided in 2023 that he wanted to write and record his debut album, Scott chose to be serious about how he went about it. Having teamed up with vocal coach/producer "Mama Jan" Smith (Rob Thomas, Usher, Justin Bieber) and Jesse Owen Astin, musician/producer (Demi Lovato, Juliet Simms, Billy Ray Cyrus), Scott is finalizing his debut album, which will be released late 2024. “My vocal coach and mentor, Heidi Huelskoetter (Jan Smith Studios), encouraged me to pursue this project. He is grateful for this team's songwriting and production skills, as they continue to bring out the best in him.”

The result is songs like ‘Ecstasy & Agony,’ which see Scott plumb the full depths of human emotion to depict a romantic relationship at its nadir. The music is lyrically astute and solidly constructed modern rock in the vein of significant artists like Foo Fighters, Linkin Park, Post Malone, and Nirvana.

Speaking about ‘Ecstasy & Agony,’ Scott called the track a “punk rock song about a breakup - it’s a wrestling match with one's self and the one you love. The lyrics are intentionally bold, about what most people think but don't express out of fear.” He added: “I see a crowd singing this song at the top of their lungs - because it's universal. I think people will connect to it.

‘Ecstasy & Agony’ is now available across all streaming platforms.
