No matter what, you need to hear “I will survive” from Caitlynne Curtis

Personally, I loved the song and its essence, not to mention the music video. Here, the Angels & Outlaws’ artist Caitlynne Curtis, sings to all those women out there who have to face so many different challenges, but always manage to survive, and, in that path, they are still full of love to give.

“I will survive” is an autobiographical song about Curtis's own transformation for the better when she found new purposes in being a mom. It was written by Caitlynne and produced by Scatteredbrains and Struggle Jennings. Of the lyrics, Caitlynne says “It´s about my son who showed me I have more to love for than I thought and I´m so thankful for him showing me what a life of happiness is”,

The song follows up “Harder to say goodbye”, which was released last October. Beyond the fact that most of Catlynne’s songs try to encourage listeners to feel less alone, “I will survive” comes in a different style, much happier and more pop, perhaps as a vibrant realization that finding the will to keep struggling can be found in our love and duty to others.

The music video, directed by Alisa Daglio, is just life. A great mom trying to be the best she can for her son. It perfectly captures the beauty in the chaos with a messy house, messy breakfast time, and a lot of love and fun between them both. It’s impossible not to just keep on smiling as we glimpse at warmth and joy at the Curtis household, and Hearing the last chorus of the song, being sung for Caitlyn’s son is just amazing. A heart-warming moment that simply cannot leave you feeling indifferent.

A few seconds in and you can readily tell she’s an absolutely amazing singer, but believe it or not, Caitlynne received a heartbreaking rejection from X Factor at the tender age of 16, but she never really gave up and today she can compare herself with artists like Katy Perry and Joss Stone because of that powerful voice and her refreshing rhythmic proposal. It’s because of these very same mind-blowing vocal capabilities and honest lyricism that she easily convinced me that is an artist that is worth following.

I’m staying tuned in!
