“I like to take my time and be thoughtful in almost every aspect of my life, so it was a big adjustment for me. Everything in music, fashion, art, and even regular life is a trend here and there has to be something new right now every single day. For someone like me, it gets overwhelming. That's what "New Waves" is. I tried to make it upbeat and "trendy" while getting my over-thought point across. I guess my goal with the song would be to provoke people to appreciate things that they like because they like them, not because it's cool right now or because everyone else likes it. Eventually, everything will be trendy, even if people think it's stupid now.”
Marius began his musical journey at a young age, learning guitar and piano as a toddler and teaching himself drums during his teenage years. He played in local bands and wrote his first song, "Going Nowhere," in high school. With just a pair of headphones, a microphone, and a laptop, he recorded that song in his college dorm and released his debut album, “Room 135”, the same year.
While studying music in Boston, Marius wrote and recorded Montazona's second album, “Butterfly”, in his apartment. The album ranges from upbeat love songs like "Up at Night" to more introspective tracks like "Paranoid."
