The Plot In You North American Tour at The House of Blues Anaheim - February 22, 2025
The Plot in You
The metalcore powerhouse, The Plot In You, took over The House of Blues in Anaheim on February 22, 2025, delivering a full-force assault on the senses. The entire lineup leading up to them unleashed an onslaught of raw energy that you had to experience in person.
ACRES
The night kicked off with Acres from the UK, who came out swinging right from the start. These guys weren't playing around; they perfectly blended metalcore and post-hardcore. There was a unique sense of melancholy in their sound that really resonated with the audience. Ben Lumber's vocals were filled with emotion while still delivering a powerful performance. Songs like "A Different Shade of Misery" and "Lost" moved the crowd, and the mosh pit was alive with energy. An unreleased track titled "Bloodlust" had everyone headbanging, setting the stage for an amazing night.
BOUNDARIES
Next up was Boundaries from Connecticut, and the crowd erupted when they hit the stage. This was a band I had been eager to see live, and they did not disappoint. You know that feeling when a band takes the stage and you just know they're about to blow you away? Their blend of hardcore, metalcore, and beatdown hardcore was flawless. The pit was chaotic, but in the best possible way, with crowd surfers everywhere. Highlights from their set included "Turning Hate Into Rage" and "Inhale the Grief," and the entire performance felt like a wild ride. Honestly, this lineup deserves a perfect 10 out of 10!
HOLDING ABSENCE
Holding Absence commanded the stage with a formidable blend of post-hardcore and alt-rock, instantly grabbing the audience's attention. From the first note, it was clear they weren’t just another band; their unique ability to make two guitars resonate like a full orchestra filled every inch of the venue with dynamic sound.NLucas Woodland’s vocals soared, delivering a haunting beauty that cut through the aggressive instrumentation. In standout tracks like "Gravity" and "A Crooked Melody," every word felt palpable, allowing the audience to connect deeply with the raw emotion behind the lyrics. Scott Waters deserves special recognition for stepping in as the drummer. He played with such ferocity and precision that you’d think he’d been part of the band since its inception. The crowd was electric, with a wave of crowd surfers igniting the atmosphere as they responded to the band's relentless energy. The combination of intricate melodies and metalcore ferocity created a powerful set that left the audience exhilarated and craving more.
THE PLOT IN YOU
Finally, when The Plot In You hit the stage, the entire room went wild. Pure chaos erupted as a jukebox in the middle of the stage blasted medleys of classic tunes before their entrance. When they finally stepped onstage, the first note of "Don’t Look Away" hit, and BAM! Confetti bombs exploded everywhere, sending the crowd into a frenzy.
The Plot In You’s set was everything you could want from a metalcore show—pure heaviness paired with an undertone of emotional rage. Landon Tewers was a force on vocals, delivering guttural screams filled with raw emotion. Josh Childress shredded through every song, intensifying the performance with every note. Ethan Yoder’s bass brought a heavy grinding low end that you could feel deep in your chest, perfectly complemented by Michael Cooper’s solid drumming. Tracks like "Divide" and "Pretend" had the crowd screaming, while songs like "THE ONE YOU LOVED" and "NOT JUST BREATHING" felt like they were hitting you straight in the gut. The pit was a whirlwind of chaos.
The band’s set was packed with anthems, and every song showcased just how much power they possess in a live setting. The encore was absolutely brutal, with "DISPOSABLE FIX" and "FEEL NOTHING" leaving everyone either drenched in sweat or completely worn out from moshing.
This was one of those shows where every band on the bill was on fire. The Plot In You, as always, brought their A-game and left Anaheim in ruins. If you missed this stop on the tour, you truly missed one incredible show.
