The Devil Wears Prada tore through the House of Blues Anaheim on November 27, 2024, as part of the West Coast leg of their “The Devil Wears Prada Is Eternal Tour.” With a powerhouse lineup featuring Greyhaven, Like Moths to Flames, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, and Silent Planet. The night was an intense, hardcore experience packed with energy from start to finish.
Kicking off the night was the progressive post-hardcore group Greyhaven, hailing from Louisville, Kentucky, kicked off the night. The band, consisting of Brent Mills (vocals), Nick Spencer (guitar), Johnny Muench (bass), and Ethan Spray (drums), wasted no time with their opening track, “In a Room Where Everything Dies.” Their fast-paced riffs and intricate rhythms had the audience hooked from the start. Despite their status as openers, their raw energy ignited the night's first mosh pitfirst mosh pit of the night and brought crowd surfers to life.
The band delivered a tight set, including the ferocious “Confined Collapse” and the melodic “Sweet Machine.” “Sick and Lavish” had an almost hypnotic effect, while their closer, “Echo and Dust, Pt. I” left the crowd looking for Pt. II.
Next up, Like Moths to Flames, from Columbus, Ohio, took the energy up another notch. Formed in 2010, the band has been a staple in the metalcore scene, known for their intense performances and relatable lyrics. The lineup, featuring Chris Roetter (vocals), Jeremy Smith (guitar), and Zach Pishney (guitar), stormed the stage with “Habitual Decline,” setting the tone for their hard-hitting set.
The crowd roared through tracks like “GNF” and “Over the Garden Wall.” Fan favorites “The Preservation of Hate” and “Kintsugi” showcased their lyrical depth, while “Bury Your Pain” closed their set on a high note.
The third act, SeeYouSpaceCowboy, brought their signature blend of hardcore punk and metalcore straight from their hometown of San Diego. Named after a famous anime phrase, the band, fronted by vocalist Connie Sgarbossa, her intense stage presence and screams hooked the crowd. On guitar, Connie’s brother, Ethan, on guitar delivered crushing riffs, while guitarist AJ Tartol, bassist Taylor Allen, and drummer Byran Prosser kept the momentum intense. SYSC has made waves since itstheir formation in 2016. They launched into their set with “Disdain Coupled with a Wide Smile,” immediately gripping the audience.
The songs “Lubricant Like Kerosene” and “Misinterpreting Constellations” stood out, blending ferocity with emotional depth. “Self Help Specialist Ends Own Life” and “Armed With Their Teeth” were raw, epitomizing which epitomized the band’s energy.
Local favorites Silent Planet, from Azusa, California, are led by frontman Garrett Russell, withled by frontman Garrett Russell, with Mitchell Stark (guitar), Thomas Freckleton (bass), and Alex Camarena (drums); the, the band delivered a spiritually charged and emotionally intense performance.
Starting with “Offworlder,” they took the audience on a journey through “Collider” and “Panopticon.” “Panic Room” and “Trilogy” were mightyparticularly powerful, with Russell’s passionate vocals cutting through the heavy instrumentation. The crowd’s energy peaked during “Anunnaki,” with a powerful sing-along that echoed through the venue.
Finally, the lights dimmed, and the anticipation was intense as The Devil Wears Prada took the stage. The band—featuring Mike Hranica (vocals), Jeremy DePoyster (guitar/vocals), Kyle Sipress (guitar), Mason Nagy (bass), and Giuseppe Capolupo (drums)—opened with the crushing “Mammoth.” The energy in the House of Blues exploded, and the mosh pit erupted in full force.
Favorites like “Watchtower” and “Danger: Wildman” were early highlights, showcasing their powerful stage presence. The set was a perfect mix of old and new, including “Born to Lose” and “Salt.” The crowd got a treat with the fan-voted “HTML Rulez D00d,” winning over “Reptar, King of the Ozone.” Closing with “Sacrifice,” the entire room sangjoined in singing, “I swear I'm not paranoid...” It was a moment of connection between the band and fans.
The encore, featuring “Dogs Can Grow Beards All Over” and “Hey John, What's Your Name Again?” brought the night to an unforgettable climax. The Devil Wears Prada proved once again why they remain Eternal in the hearts of their fans.
