Closing Night of the "HDTV" Tour is more than A-O-K! Tai Verdes and Renforshort
Tik Tok legend Tai Verdes brought the HDTV tour to a close on Sunday night at the historic Belasco Theater in Downtown Los Angeles. “Stuck in the Middle” singer had quite the busy day from performing on the series finale of American Idol to playing a crazy final set of this tour run.
Tai Verdes story is like many others; just trying to survive in this pandemic world we all fought through. And like many other musicians, Tai found his place on Tik Tok - but unlike the others, he ran with it and is making a name for himself. Verdes is now a several times over Billboard charting artist amassing nearly 8.5 monthly listeners on Spotify alone.
Tai released a new song on Friday called “100sadsongs” and “Sheesh!” was it ever a crowd favorite of the night! He also straight up blessed the crowd with a new song “You’re Not Here” which was such a treat.
Out on tour with Verdes was the very epic and ever so relatable, renforshort. If there is one thing to know about renforshort it is that she is right there with you in the trenches of navigating anxiety. During her set in between songs she went on to say “one thing about me is that I really don’t like big crowds, and my worst fear is a mosh pit. Which is why I wrote this song called mosh pit to explain my anxiety.”
renforshort is the perfect mix of angst, punk, and melodic pop. She is a force to be reckoned with and she made that clear when she yelled “JUMP JUMP JUMP” during her closing song “i drive me mad.”
You can check out ren’s new song we’ll make it ok feat. Travis Barker here and you can catch her on tour opening for The Band Camino on “The Tour Camino” run this June across the US.
The night was coming to a close but Tai had one hit left….. A-O-K! I honestly couldn’t believe he still had the energy to just right into the crowd and sing the chart topping song with his fans. It’s moments like that, that remind me why live music is so freaking cool. Living in the moment with an artist that makes music that makes you feel something. It doesn’t get better than that.
Catch Tai Verdes this summer at festivals like BottleRock, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza Paris, and Reading and Leeds Festivals.
