WHAT THE BUZZ AROUND JACK DUDA IS ABOUT

IMG_0150 (1).JPG

Hailing from Burlington, Vermont. Young Jack Duda moved to L.A. to pursue a musical career he'd been cultivating since he was only 6 years old. The now-mult-iinstrumentalist 21-year-old is currently working with ex-Vampire Weekend manager Michelle Harrison, which for a huge Weekend fan like him is nothing short of a meaningful twist of fate in his favor.

For Jack Duda, some of his career's current highlights include his collaboration with LA-based singer/songwriter No/Me (cobalt) and producer Sam Ricci (Kendric, SZA). His TikTok presence has given him over 14 thousand followers and nearly two million likes, as well as over ten million views combined.

As Jack prepares his Debut EP, he regales us today with a single for an appetizer, and what a delightful treat it is: "Honey Bee" is dripping with a dense and sweet bassline with an acoustic guitar spread smoothly over it, and if you pay attention to the "notes he's not playing" you'll notice Duda's jazz roots poking through the track's surface.

According to Jack himself: "Honey bee was written in a turning of the seasons sitting on my porch on a brisk September morning in Vermont. I was watching the peppers on my porch slowly die and feeling nostalgic about the season to come. "Honey bee" is about the way we react to changing of the seasons and how we overcome them."

The song is rather folksy and laidback, there's an idiosyncratic underpinning to it that would make this song a perfect complement to a nice hot coffee and rainy afternoon, very much in spite of the bright and summery sound, which could just as easily also complement an ice-cold beer and refreshing dip in the pool. Talk about the changing of seasons.

If you want to feel extra good after listening to such a chill track, then you can bask in the knowledge that half of the proceeds from the song will go towards saving the bees through Pollinator projects run by @honeygirlgrows. Ain't that just the sweetest thing?
