‘SUMI X’ WRAPS YOU IN AN ENIGMATIC MELODY WITH HER SINGLE ‘ELECTRIC BABY’

"Electric Baby” is a song by Sumi X, that combines electronic elements and distorted guitars to create a dark and captivating atmosphere.

The track begins with an electronic intro that gradually introduces guitars and drums, building a sense of tension and anticipation. As it progresses, the singer's voice joins the mix, singing lyrics that invoke images of darkness and mystery.

Electric Baby refers to that person who electrifies your life and makes you see the world in colors, although it may also mean a bit of death for you. Enigmatic as the theme itself.

Sumi Krishnan was born in Pittsburgh, PA. She falls in love with music at the early age of eight years old as she watched her older sister play the flute in the marching band. Eventually, she would go on to play the trumpet in high school, winning the esteemed "Jazz at Lincoln Center" accolade as a senior and sharing the stage with Wynton Marsalis. She also sang vocal jazz throughout college.

She started songwriting and learning to play guitar, all while running her company, a 200-person IT and management services company, with which she won numerous awards and media recognition, including Inc's 30 Under 30 Magazine that appeared in the list of "fastest growing companies". But finally, after 10 years, she decided to go for it – sold her company and moved to Nashville to “come out” as an artist.

In her latest Instagram post, she explains it all: (…) “I made a big scary decision to leave behind my life as a government consultant and follow my heart on a journey of being a recording artist in LA. I’ve learned so much since then… like the fact that LA isn’t 75 and sunny all year long, building community can be hard, and that it takes a whole lot of emotional resilience to put yourself out there as a creative over and over! But I also know that anything is possible when you’re determined, having the right connections makes a world of difference, and being your own biggest cheerleader is crucial in a world where everyone has an opinion.

I realized the other day that in order to make this work I’ve got to up the ante. I’m recommitting to my musical journey and am putting things in place to be a full-on “pop star” in the next 12 months!”

As an artist, she represents the struggles with identity she has faced her entire life, because she confesses to spending much of it trying to fit into a mold that wasn't made for her, from being harassed and being Indian-American.

Electric Baby is the first single and music video of this new artist who is committed to success in all arenas of her life.
