'Sour' Summer vibes at the Poolhouse

Not every summer fling is meant to last. No summer survives the coming of the cold, and even sweet wine can turn sour, but hey, so long as the sun's warm embrace is on your skin, you can still cling to the breezy vibes and stave off the coming of the Sour.

Hailing from Provo, Utah, Poolhouse is a Four-piece pop-rock outfit that cites Coin, The 1975, and Radiohead as some of their influences. The band is clinging with all their might to the last shreds of a summer vibe with a brand new single that heralds their upcoming debut EP set to release -somewhat ironically- sometime this Fall.

Sunny, upbeat, and driven almost primarily by the persistent bassline, "Sour" is more like "bittersweet", juxtaposing its cheery and bright sound with a bit of brooding heartbreak narrative, almost like saying "you gotta take the good with the bad" and keep rolling with it because both the literal and the proverbial summer is not over quite yet.

“I tune it out like it’s the same without you I been on the same shit since the last we spoke what happened Did you forget what you told me When we were in the backseat Sweet summer love turned sour It’s so loud and it only gets louder”

With some hints of Cali Pop-punk, the band's melodic and energetic sound is vibrant and contagious, and it's no surprise that they admit to thriving in a live setting, where that energy can play off a buzzing audience living in the moment. Though they lack a full EP release at the moment, they have played more than 80 shows in and around the Utah scene, including Forkfest 2022. Currently, the band has already booked 150+ shows well into 2023.
