Haunting dream pop duo SPELLES is thrilled to announce the release of their latest single, "Holy Hells." Composed of the talented songwriters and instrumentalists Kathryn Baar and Luc Laurent, SPELLES has created a mesmerizing and soulful anthem that showcases their passion for stoic philosophy and the enduring power of the human spirit. Since bursting onto the scene in 2014, the duo has gained recognition for their unique sound and captivating lyrics, particularly when their unreleased track "Bird in a Cage" was featured on the popular television show, Pretty Little Liars. Since then they’ve released two EPs: SPELLES and Skeleton Coast I, and multiple singles. They’ve also had several of their songs featured on various shows such as Good Girls, Big Sky, Charmed, and Nancy Drew. Baar co-wrote “Let It Out” in 2022 with Jordan Frye. The same song was chosen for a promo on HBO. She also lent her voice and writing skills to the song “Fly” by The Avener and vocals to “Fade Away” by Claptone, a collaboration initiated via Stuart Price's personal email. They also performed live in Los Angeles on the same bill as LP, Dorothy, Cannons, Skott, and Nia.

The amazing duo is known for their uncanny sound, which combines ethereal melodies with introspective and thought-provoking lyrics. Drawing inspiration from various musical influences such as Portishead, Radiohead, Nina Simone, and Feist, they combined different musical influences along with poetic and evocative lyrics to create an already commanding and moving body of work that speaks for itself. While October is still far away this song in my opinion would be a great addition for All Hallows' Eve playlist. "Holy Hells" is a testament to the duo's talent and artistic vision. It is a hauntingly beautiful track and I can easily recommend this one to anyone seeking a different experience.
