Izye's "Drip" turns into a veritable downpour

In The music video directed by Brandon Esparza (of Manifaith Creative) Izye's "Drip" turns into a veritable downpour.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Izye (is-yay) is a 21-year-old singer, songwriter, rapper, and producer from the San Francisco Bay Area. Her sound's described as a curious hybrid between R&B and high-caliber, top-of-the-line Pop virtuosity with the gritty and sensual edge of trap thrown into the mix. All turned up to eleven by the intense fire of her unapologetic attitude.

She belts out her lyrics with fierce confidence, and her delivery is so smooth and effortless that it almost feels like you're hearing her unbridled thoughts and innermost desires. This wouldn't really be possible without her voice, an incredibly versatile weapon in her arsenal that is capable able to go from soft and delicate to hard and aggressive in a single beat, reflecting in the rousing and intense nature of the song.

“drip” is about being so infatuated with someone physically and not being able to get enough of them. -Izye

The seductive lyrics come alive not only thanks to the vibrant and crystalline vocal prowess of Izye's, but also in part to the spellbinding and near-primal trap beat that serves as the very image of the heart-pounding physicality suggested by the song. The steamy plea and strong physical clamor are certainly there, but the track is elevated in full by Izye's stunning vocal performance, which really takes the cake.

The entire track took just two hours to be fully fleshed out says Izye, confessing "I wrote “drip” based on one of my favorite Kehlani songs called “Water”. I brought the song to my producer, Kundo, and told him I wanted to make a song just like it."

Though fairly explicit, "Drip" is not lacking in subtleties of its own, mainly down to the use of pitched percussion elements to simulate or perhaps evoke the sound of falling drops. this coupled with the clever wordplay that seems to be a staple of Izye's electrifying and sharp songwriting no doubt makes "Drip" an exciting and eclectic new release deserving a lot of close attention.
