In the aftermath of the heart-wrenching events of September 11th, Mazzetti took a hiatus from music to serve the people of his city and joined the Fire Department of New York (FDNY). He is still an active FDNY firefighter and his dedication extends beyond his service. In his spare time, he organized fundraisers for the First Responders Children's Foundation, which supports children of firefighters, police officers, and EMTs.
He now lives a somewhat typical American life. He is married with 3 children. As a blue-collar worker, he is able to help his community. In addition to swimming lessons, he attends school events with his children. However, what makes him unique is that he hasn't closed himself off to his passions. We only get one shot at this life and he knows that life is in each moment. He's doing both! Supporting his family while pursuing his dreams. He's living proof that you can and you should do the same.
