Future Joy Takes the Fun from “Coast to Coast” in their New Single
Future Joy is always on the road looking for new adventures, and their latest track, “Coast to Coast,” is a celebration of this spirit of wanderlust and appreciation for all the experiences and memories that a trip can create. The track mixes, in perfect proportion, some funk, house, and bass, delivering an irresistible pop anthem that will become the soundtrack of your next road trip.
Emily Cooper and Zach Simms, the creative duo behind Future Joy, are simultaneously based in Denver, CO, and St. Petersburg, FL. This arrangement allows them to travel frequently from one city to another. Establishing their roots in both locations enables Emily and Zach to explore the country, performing shows and connecting with cities in between.
Both artists are exceptionally talented, with a diverse set of skills that include singing, DJing, and keyboard proficiency. Additionally, Zach brings his expertise in bass, baritone and tenor saxophone.
Future Joy’s sound is a blend of funk, house, bass, pop, drum and bass, hip-hop, techno, jazz, and dubstep, just to name a few. This sonic amalgam allows the duo to create songs that feel innovative and adventurous, leaving no place for limitations or fear of trying new things. Their sound and intrepid nature have taken them to a variety of venues and festivals. From Hulaween to Resonate and Elements, they've performed alongside renowned acts like The Polish Ambassador, Manic Focus, and Marvel Years.
From coast to coast, the many road trips across the U.S. have inspired Future Joy to write a song that could encapsulate the excitement of hitting the road. After living more than 4 years of intensive full-time touring, during which they have played over 200 shows and traveled more than 150,000 miles, it came naturally to write a song to celebrate all these adventures. Sonically, the track is full of energy, and the EDM and pop arrangements make it a perfect song to dance to or sing out loud during carpool.
“Coast to Coast” has been a significant success in the different performances Future Joy has included the song in the setlist. This enthusiastic feedback inspired them to create a music video, and it felt pretty natural for them to showcase all these gigs, the hours of driving, the landscapes viewed from the sunroof of the van, and the fun dances and the laughter along the way. The duo says about the video, “We wanted to capture the essence of how much we love traveling and playing music,” and they certainly did.
