Experience the Idyllic Daydreams of Ryan English's 'Prairie Girl Highway'

The Ryan English is a Canadian musician born in St. Catharines, Ontario, who grew up singing barbershop music under the influence of his mother, who still performs at 67 years old. Ryan's passion for music was instilled in him at a young age, and he began studying piano for five years before moving on to drums and joining his first band at 16. Despite his parents' initial disapproval of his drumming, Ryan persevered and saved up to buy his own set, practicing whenever he could.

After moving to Toronto to study Entertainment Management, Ryan interned at Warner Records Canada and worked as a Festival Volunteer Coordinator for NXNE. He then became a part-owner of a bar and eventually owned his own bar on King Street in downtown Toronto for 15 years while playing in four bands and perfecting his songwriting craft. Ryan worked with Canadian hit songwriter Casey Marshall, learning the importance of a song's message and lyrics.

Ryan eventually decided to go solo, enjoying the freedom to genre-hop and collaborate with various musicians and producers. His first solo song, "Kiss is Just a Kiss," was written on piano and featured some of his friends on the track. Ryan's love for music has been a constant throughout his life, and he plans to continue creating and releasing music regardless of what the future holds.

TRE’s latest release is one about idyllic daydreaming. Titled “Prairie Girl Highway,” this new awesome track is about “simple living & escaping the rat race”, a dream that is as universal as it is respectable.

Many people dream of escaping the hustle and bustle of the city and living a simpler life in the countryside. Modern life can be exhausting, with long commutes, endless work hours, and constant stress. By contrast, the countryside offers a slower pace of life, with fresh air, and open spaces. That's definitely the vibe that Ryan went for with the vocals and the music for this track.

Though laden with poppy electronic elements, the track is also host to a tightly-packed ukulele, and its airy tone can transport you to a tropical paradise, evoking images of swaying palm trees and crystal-clear waters, and all of the song’s instrumentation and arrangement is definitely conducive to dreams of escape, relaxation, and a simpler way of life.
