Indie rock band Junaco invites you into their world—a realm of peace, and serenity, an escape where your troubles melt away, and tranquility reigns supreme. With a deep dedication to their craft, they have masterfully created melodies that soothe even the most restless of hearts. Their previous releases, including the enchanting and heartwarming tracks "In Between" and "Blue Room," demonstrated the band’s ability to weave elements of indie rock with subtle hints of psychedelia. Now, Junaco returns with their latest single, "Serene," a cozy and evocative piece inspired by their time spent in the woods of Northern California last winter.
"Serene" opens with a calming melody, where gentle guitar riffs intertwine with a soothing rhythm to craft a comforting ambiance. Soon, hypnotic vocals join in, supported by understated yet powerful drums in the background. The chorus enthralls with its meditative repetition of the lyrics: "Pull me under / Wash me clean / Bend my body / So serene."

The band shares insight into the inspiration behind the song: “‘Serene’ was heavily influenced by our time spent in the woods of Northern California last winter. Spending time in the cold waters of the ocean and rivers felt like shedding skin, mirroring the changes in the landscape around us. That became a metaphor for the cycles we all go through in life—death, decomposition, and rebirth. This song came from finding peace in those processes.”
This spring, Junaco is set to bring their soothing, soulful melodies to life on stage as they hit the road for a Southwest tour. Alongside the tour, Junaco will begin unveiling singles from their highly anticipated LP, In Motion, which is slated for a summer 2025 release.
