Emily Brooks is ‘Back on the ground’ with her new song

‘Back on the ground’ is the new release from Emily Brooks. This indie pop and rock artist based in Los Ángeles is creating her sound 'centered around the revolution of the soul' and this is probably one of the most interesting and genuine aspects of her music.

In a recent interview, she said she creates songs with the hope of sparking a light inside people’s hearts. ‘I specialize in coming up with a variety of different melodies and many ways to say one thing, lyrically. With a freestyle flowability that is the basis of every song I create, I let the spirit take me and then I go back and create structure. I specialize in writing pop, jazz/R&B, and country’.

Emily Brooks grew up writing poetry and singing under the trees of Pennsylvania. She first fell in love with performing in the Theatre as a young girl, and even got the chance to perform in the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Scotland at the age of sixteen. Emily would go on to perform in theatre productions and film sets all over the United States, receiving a BA in Theatre Performance before discovering her songwriting abilities.

With her signature soft-raspy voice and a very badass attitude “Back on The Ground” is a 90s-style rock anthem that lingers on the brink of insanity and walks the line of the soul. For Emily is ‘about fighting for the good in yourself. “You know it isn’t good for you, but you keep going back. It’s a cycle you keep repeating with a chance to change, she said. warm visuals from the videos were filmed and produced by Eric Potapenko and reflect a young woman walking, going up and down in the middle of a colorful city that stops at nothing. The video was Shot by Dave Lang and produced by Emily Herself, with the song’s producer being Eric Potapenko, “Potz”.

Emily’s debut single was in 2020 with ‘As I am’, a song produced by GRAMMY® award-winning producer Brendan O’Brien. The song received a placement in the CBS Television show, “God Friended Me.”
