Cas Cleo predicts the"Future"

With the angelic pluck of strings and a voice that caresses your eardrums, Cas Cleo reassures us about the future, putting all anxieties and fears to rest in a nostalgic, hope-filled track that sweeps through you like the breeze.

Native to rural Virginia, Cas carried the rustic and expansive sensibilities of her home turf all the way to Nashville Tennessee when moving there in 2016 to hone the art of songwriting that she's been cultivating since the age of 8. Cas's style is dreamy and graceful, giving off this cool, calming vibe that encourages contemplation and longing in equal parts.

Though not quite minimalistic, her sound is definitely uncluttered and elegant; it "travels light" as it were, easily clearing the atmosphere around you and settling itself gently on your ears, taking residence even long after the song's reached its end. The song sort of moves between instruments as it goes on, perhaps as it moves through the stages of reminiscing about the past and the different moments lodged in Cas' memory, the moments that ended up inspiring this song in one way or the other.

Cas describes the song as having "Poured" out of her one night in a mere 8 minutes "as if I was writing in a journal" She says "The first verse details a night I had with my friend when I was about 12 years old. We laid on her trampoline just talking about nothing. I thought about if we were to do that today, would we still be as carefree?" she continues, further detailing how she was trying to convince herself that in the future, none of her anxieties would eventually amount to anything much " as everything tends to work out. " she leaves off.

Cleo's debut EP ‘twenty-four’ came out in March of this year, and now "Future" predicts the release of her second EP (as of yet, name unknown) sometime early next year.
