Brookelyn Rose debuts on Country music with 'Sour Candy'

Sour Candy is the first single from Brookelyn Rose's new EP, but also her debut song in the country genre.

It is a subject that mixes the different nuances women carry. She is capable of revealing the sensitive and at the same time the most seasoned side of each one of them, through phrases like 'I'm soft, like the belly of the beast'. In fact, Rose claims that was precisely the first line she wrote and it captured the spirit of the entire song.

"Underneath the sweet, soft mask women wear to make it in this world, we're ferocious underneath it all," Brookelyn said.

Brookelyn's unique sound is sure to capture the hearts and minds of listeners everywhere. The pop-country vibes can be felt throughout the entire song, along with the Philadelphia-born and bred singer/songwriter's seductive voice.

Going to the spotlight of the video, we get a very strong Western movie vibe, with a Brookelyn who shows herself as a confident, independent woman who knows what she wants and won't let anyone stand in her way.

Music is not new to her. Throughout elementary, middle, and high school, she would be singing and performing whenever the opportunity presented itself, and then, she began journaling in middle school and some of those entries were poems.

She usually heard a melody in her head while reading the words and then she would start to vocalize it. She began to seriously write music in high school and that became her journaling form of her.
