After captivating audiences on Season 22 of American Idol and building a loyal fan base, Brooklyn native Ajii is back in the spotlight with his latest single, GAHDAYUM. This energetic pop/soul track, infused with cynical yet catchy lyrics, invites listeners to move and celebrate life’s unexpected twists.

The song, co-written by Ajii alongside Brandon Stewart and Ryan Baharloo, marks his second release under BMG Nashville/19 Recordings. It follows his reflective debut single, Rich Man, which has already amassed over 74,000 Spotify streams.

GAHDAYUM is about how I quickly went from streetlights to spotlights in just a few months,” Ajii shares, referring to the incredible momentum he gained from the world’s most popular talent show. Before American Idol, Ajii worked as a security guard, front desk clerk, and nursing home intake assistant.

The song captures Ajii’s awe and gratitude for his whirlwind journey—from being an anonymous nu-metal band vocalist in New York to becoming a rising star with thousands of followers and over 14,000 monthly Spotify listeners.

“Everything I’ve been manifesting in pursuit of my dreams is starting to come to life, and all I can say is, GAHDAYUM. It’s the equivalent of me saying, “Wow, this is amazing.” So many great things, both big and little, are happening – and the energy here really celebrates that. It’s definitely pop and R&B-influenced, but I sing a few lines with a country kind of twang. It’s got that twist of being different and aligns with my goal to be a genre-bending artist,” says Ajii.

Produced by Grammy-winning Jintae Ko and Los Angeles-based Marky Style, GAHDAYUM boasts a fresh, unique sound. Despite its upbeat tone, Ajii remains committed to creating music that offers substance beyond surface-level trends.
